The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a scientific society based in the United States that supports scientific inquiry in the field of chemistry. Founded in 1876 at New York University, the ACS currently has more than 1,61,000 members. It is non-profit organization, the world's largest scientific society and one of the leading sources of authoritative scientific information. Its publications division produces dozens of scholarly journals including the prestigious Journal of the American Chemical Society. The primary source of income of the ACS is the Chemical Abstracts Service and 38 peer-reviewed publications. Chemical & Engineering News is the weekly news magazine published by the American Chemical Society and is sent to all members. The ACS membership is organized into 186 geographical Local Sections and 32 Technical Divisions.

APS Journals

The American Physical Society (APS), founded in 1899, is the world's largest organization of physicists. The Society publishes more than a dozen scientific journals, including the prestigious 'Physical Review' since 1913, and 'Physical Review Letters' (1958). Over the years, 'Physical Review' has subdivided into five separate sections as the fields of physics. APS also organizes more than twenty science meetings each year. APS is a member society of the American Institute of Physics. In addition, the Society conducts extensive programs in education, science outreach (specifically Physics Outreach), and media relations. APS has 14 divisions and 11 topical groups covering all areas of physics research.
