Quantum information and computation have become the toast of the town during the last two decades. They are presented as performing tasks which are impossible classically. In this talk, I shall explore what exactly and genuinely is a quantum resource/task and what is not. Bio: Prof. Ravishankar is a theoretical physicist who has worked in the areas of Medium Energy Physics, High energy physics (QCD), Quark gluon plasma, quantum Hall effects and Laser plasma acceleration. In the last two decades, he has been working on non-classicality and quantum information. He is also currently working on classical Non-Abelian plasma. Ravishankar enjoys teaching at all levels. When he was in IIT Kanpur, he received commendation from the senate many times for excellence in teaching. Also, at IIT Delhi, he is the recipient of the distinguished teacher award.
